What is Direct-To-Film?

Direct-To-Film allows us to print ANY digital picture, onto a special film where we can then heat transfer this onto ANY item of clothing.

This process of digital printing allows us to create photo-like, full colour prints, that feel, look, and are extremely durable!

So, how does it work exactly?

The Direct To Film process is pretty simple really. Once your design or logo is print ready, we use a large industrial DTF printer to transfer the artwork, in reverse, onto a clear film. The film is then run through a heated curing unit, allowing us to handle the artwork without causing any damage to the design. For bulk orders, we will then slice up the film into individual prints, ready for application.

The final stage is where the magic happens. We place the film onto the fabric, design side down, before using a heat press machine to apply pressure to the area. The heat activates the adhesive element in the ink, bonding the artwork to the fabric. Lastly, we remove the film, leaving only the ink behind.

Why Choose Direct-To-Film?

NO Colour Limitations

When it comes to digital printing, the possibilities are endless. This is why it is the perfect choice for photographic or illustrative prints containing intricate details, gradients or a wide spectrum of colours. In fact, with this method, we can achieve almost any RGB colour, meaning we are not limited to a certain number of colours per print as we are with screen printing.

Fabric Versatility

Another positive to DTF printing is that is suitable for a wide variety of fabrics including cotton, polyester, and blends, making it more versatile than other methods (such as DTG).

High-Quality, Durable Prints

We're super proud of our prints, and like to think it's what sets us apart from the rest. Our DTF method produces high-definition, full-colour results with an incredibly soft feel. Not only that but they are incredibly durable, meaning no cracking or fading over time.

We've run our Royal prints with small lettering and loads of colours through 50+ washes and found they retained their stretch and vibrancy the whole way through. Different to screen print and other similar methods, our prints stretch with the garment rather than cracking.

No Minimums

Due to the ease of set up, our DTF printing is suitable for both small-scale and large-scale production runs, meaning you are not limited by minimum order quantities.

Eco-Friendly Approach

Offering a more sustainable option, our DTF printing uses environmentally-friendly water-based inks.
