HTV & PUFF

Heat Transfer Vinyl (HTV) printing is a popular and versatile way to add logos and designs to clothing, and it is the original way to do so! At Print & Press, we know all about HTV printing. This method is perfect for creating vibrant, durable prints and can be used on various garments, including t-shirts, jumpers, jackets, hats, and even accessories like bags and shoes.

HTV is less versatile than DTF, in the way of colours, as HTV comes in rolls by the metre of specific colours, so you can't fade colours or do intricate details.

BUT IN SAYING THIS, HTV comes in all sorts of cool patterns and textures that you CANNOT get with DTF! (See below). And the cool thing about DTF is that you can combine different colours and textures to make one really cool artwork!

So, how does it work exactly?

Once your digital logo or design is print ready, we then use a specialised vinyl cutter to extract the artwork out of the vinyl sheet. After cutting, we weed out the excess vinyl, leaving only the desired design on the carrier sheet. This step ensures that only the design will be transferred to the garment. 

We then move on to heat pressing, where we carefully position the design onto the garment before applying heat and pressure. Once the artwork has bonded and adhered to the fabric we peel the sheet off hot and then give the design a second press! The result is a smooth and vibrant print that’s ready to wear!

PUFF HTV!

PUFF HTV is everyones current favourite print! When cut out and hit with the heat press, the PUFF HTV will instantly puff up to create a COOL 3D, yet smooth texture.

The best part of PUFF? You can layer DTF underneath to create a cool, unique designs, while still take advantage of the colour versatility of DTF (image to the left).
